A wedding video editing workflow decides whether you deliver in two weeks or in two months. The editing itself takes the same time whoever does it; what slows wedding films down is waiting: for the footage, for a brief, for feedback. Here is exactly how a project moves through our studio, what we need from you at each step, and where the days are lost.

Delivery

Most videos are ready for review in 12–14 days after the deposit. The part of the timeline you control is on both ends: how complete the hand-off is, and how quickly the feedback comes back.

Where wedding edits lose days

DelayWhat happensHow to avoid it
Missing audioVows or speeches can't be used until the recorder files arriveUpload every lav, recorder and board feed with the video
No reference filmsThe first cut is a guess at your style, and the revision round fixes itName 2–3 films and what you like in each
Unclear musicThe edit is cut twice: once to a temp track, once to the real oneSend licensed tracks before the edit starts, or let us choose
Notes in piecesEach new message restarts a revisionCollect your notes and the couple's, then send them together with timecodes
Late feedbackDelivery waits on the review stepBook review time in your calendar when you pay the deposit

Questions videographers ask

What is a typical wedding video editing workflow?

Back up and organise the footage, write a brief, sync cameras and audio, build the story edit, colour grade, mix sound and music, review, revise and deliver. When you outsource, your part shrinks to the first and last steps: a complete hand-off and one round of consolidated feedback.

How long does it take to edit a wedding video?

With us, the turnaround is 12 days counted from the deposit, and most videos are ready in 12–14 days. Review and revisions come after that and depend on how quickly the feedback arrives.

Can you do a quick turnaround wedding video edit?

Often, yes. Tell us your deadline when you inquire and we'll do our best to fit it. A complete hand-off with all audio and a filled-in brief is what makes a rush possible.

When does the 12-day turnaround start?

When the deposit is paid. Before that, we agree the details and you upload the footage and fill in the brief, so the edit can start the moment the deposit lands.

How do I send footage to an outsourced editor?

Upload it to Google Drive or Dropbox and share the link in our questionnaire. Include every camera and audio source, and keep two backups of your own until the film is delivered.
