The highlight film is the piece the couple shares, the one that sells your next booking. It is also the hardest to outsource well: a highlight is a story, not a montage, and the editor has to make the same story choices you would. That is what this page is about.
The structure is yours, not a template
There is no standard split of a highlight film's minutes. One wedding is carried by the vows, another by a father's speech, a third by the party. We build each film around what happened on the day and what your brief and reference films ask for. Whether the speech and vow audio runs under the whole film as its voice, whether it is music-only, whether it follows the day in order: these are the choices your references should show us. How long should a wedding highlight film be?
Our highlight films run 4 to 10 minutes. Four to six minutes is enough to tell the story of the day and is what most couples rewatch and share; closer to ten works when the speeches or vows are strong enough to carry it. Pick one target length in the brief.
How much does wedding highlight film editing cost?
Highlight film editing starts at $299 per wedding. The final quote depends on how much footage there is and how many cameras need syncing and grading.
Can you use the speeches and vows as narration?
Yes, it is one of the most common ways to build a highlight. Send every audio source you recorded, because the clearest copy of a vow or a speech line is often on a single lav or recorder.
Do I get the project file for the highlight film?
Yes. We deliver the finished film and the project files in your preferred software: Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or another editor on request.
